This weather window we are taking to get to Peurto Rico is supposed to be awesome.
We are leaving at 6 PM tonite and plan to be in Peurto Rico by Sunday afternoon. I
believe the dogs will be OK. I know Frankie will, but Sydney, I worry about.
Saturday March 4, 2006
We are amazed at how calm it is out here. The swells are maybe 3 feet, but there is
a 9 or 10 second interval, so it is so smooth. Larry insists on staying up long past
his watches, so I don't complain. He loves this!
Sunday March 5, 2006
We arrived in Ponce, Puerto Rico at 1 PM. We went 300 miles in 43 hours. Pretty
amazing. There are lots of boats that left at the same time and we are all sort of
in the same area here. We plan to rent a car and do some shopping. They have a
Walmart. Sam's club and a mall!!
Wednesday March 8, 2006
Went to Walmart, Sam's Club, Office Depot and a mall. I got my American fix. It is
time to get out og here... spending too much money!!
Saturday March 18, 2006
Sydney is fine. We are trying a few things with her but overall, she is OK.
Sunday March 19, 2006
We played tourist today and took a cab to downtown St. Thomas. There were 400 shops
and 300 were jewelry stores. We are not in the market for jewelry so we just browsed.
Tuesday March 21, 2006
We went to Christmas Cove and anchored at the south end of St. Thomas. Visited with
some friends in St. Thomas.
Saturday March 25, 2006
Went back to Crown Bay Marina to greet our guests. A couple that Larry used to work
with, Richard and Rose, came to stay a few days with us on the boat. We are so
excited. It should be a great visit.
Sunday March 26, 2006
Sailed to St. John's and anchored in Hurricane Hole. Had a great lunch and stayed
the night. All that was on the agenda was to relax and we got that done.
Monday March 27, 2006
Went to Sopers Hole and checked into the BVI's. We were a bit worried because the
BVI's has a no dogs policy. We have been told by local vets to just lay low and just
not mention tha you have a dog. They don't ask and you don't tell. It seems to be
working so far.
Thursday March 30, 2006
Richard and Rose left today. It was a fantastic visit. They were the perfect boat
guests! It is not easy to stay on a boat if you are not used to it and they were
troopers. We had a blast, laughed a lot relaxed and made sure that Richard got in
lots of naps. I remember all too well how important that is for a Hilcorp employee!!
We hated to see them go and look forward to their next visit.
